Abstract

본 고는 국내 최초 극장상영 연쇄극 영화<의리적구투>의 영화사적 가치와 문화적 가치를 반영하여당시의 영화를 현대적 감각으로 재현하기 위해 활용할 무대의 영상을 기획 연구하였다. 연구에서 오늘날공연’트렌드(trend)‘와 영화문법을 적용하여 본 공연을 위한 무대 영상제작의 방향성을 제시한다. 공연은현재 합천’영상테마파크’에 조성된 실내 ‘단성사 극장’과 야외 ‘조선총독부, 경성역’을 무대 공간으로설정하였다. 실내 단성사 극장 무대에서는 영상과 배우연기, 악기연주, 가수, 변사가 당시 공연을 재현했다. 야외공연에는 조선총독부와 경성역 중 한 곳을 선택하여 극 중 주인공 송산의 영화적 현실과 당시 일제치하 조선인들의 고달픈 삶과 역사적 사건을 일치시킨 ‘미디어파사드’ 방식의 기호화 영상을 예술적으로제작하기 위해 기획하였다. 오늘날 뮤지컬공연이나 연극 공연에서 활용되는 무대 영상이 단순히공연내용의 배경이거나 미학적 영상이었다면, 본 공연의 무대 영상은 영화문법을 반영한 영상으로 한 편의영화를 공연화 하는 작업이라고 할 수 있다. 다시 말해서 영화적인 영상과 무대 위에서 연기하는 배우가하나가 되는 공연형식의 영화 영상이라고 말할 수 있다.

This study planned and researched the stage image to be used to reproduce the movie of the time in a modern sense by reflecting the historical and cultural values of the first theaterscreened serial drama film in Korea. In this study, the direction of stage video production for this performance is suggested by applying today's performance 'trend' and film grammar. For the performance, the indoor ‘Danseongsa Theater’ and the outdoor ‘Gyeongseong Station, Government-General of Joseon’, which are currently built in Hapcheon ‘Video Theme Park’, were set as stage spaces. On the stage of the indoor Danseongsa Theater, the performances of the time were reproduced by video, actors acting, playing musical instruments, singers, and narrator of silent film. And for outdoor performances, one of the Governor-General of Joseon or Gyeongseong Station was selected to show the cinematic reality of Songsan, the main character in the play, and Koreans under Japanese rule at the time. It was planned to artistically produce a 'media facade' method of encoding video that harmonizes the painful lives of the people with historical events. If the stage images used in today's musical performances or theater performances were simply the background or aesthetic images of the performance, the stage images for this performance are images that reflect the cinematic grammar and can be said to be the work of turning a movie into a performance.
